International Workshop on e-Health in Emerging Economies
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain Feb 10-12 2010
26,000 children under the age of five die every day in the world (UNICEF).
Malnutrition, contaminated water, diarrhea and pulmonary infections will kill most of them.
Unfortunately, this tragedy is being ignored and silenced by most of the ones who brag about their latest technology gadget.
IWEEE brings together a multi-disciplinary team representing NGOs, Academia, Goverment, Church and Industry to share their experiences and to try to find ways to improve the lives of millions of human beings from the developing world.
IWEEE is not a pure technical conference. It will focus on the human factor and in raising awareness
about the actual situation. We will discuss the tools that we can
provide today to doctors and institutions to improve their habitants
health and education.
The workshop promotes Free Software as one of
the main pillars for a sustainable framework for providing e-health and
education for the developing and least developed countries.
